181 Club - Foster Care

Youth in the foster care system receive an annual clothing allowance ranging from $300-$500, depending on age. Traditional foster parents are paid less that $20 a day per child to cover everything the child might need. Foster parents find it difficult to provide those little extras without dipping into their own pockets. Furthermore, most donations to foster children are geared toward younger children and don’t meet the needs and wants of teenagers in foster care. he goal of this ministry is to fill the gap for teenage girls in the system of care. This ministry will offer encouragement and hope for these girls who have endured neglect, abuse and abandonment. This ministry will provide teenage girls a chic store where they will shop for new and gently used, trendy clothing in the newest styles. All clothing will be free of charge. The shopping experience itself will be designed to make the girls feel special and valued.
